Better Late Than Never

Ok…..I haven’t posted in a loooong time. This doesn’t mean I wasn’t being creative. I was just in a bit of a slump. Christmas cards took over my life I was doing a few orders and sending batches out to organizations to be passed out.

When the new year hit I took a look around and decided that my New Year resolution was to use what I already had. Of course I mean those items that cost the most and, quite frankly, get used the least. So for this year no new stamps, dies, or other major purchases. I will continue to purchase ink, neutral papers and adhesives (once I use up what I have).

I know you are all laughing yourselves silly but I am really going to try. I will be posting card creations a few times a week made with stuff I already have. I am going to try and get through ALL of the stamps I have purchased in the last 10-15 years. It has been reassuring to see people like Justine Hovey and Ingrid Blackburn doing this as well! I feel that’s pretty good company to keep.

The above card was created using two old Stampin Up sets:

Gorgeous Grunge & I Heart Hearts

The technique used for the background is probably one of the first ones I learned. It is called the “Masking Tape Technique. Basically you rip strips of masking tape (cheap tape) then ink up the sticky side and place where you want it. I then stamped and embossed (Nuvo Classic Gold) over the background and added an embossed heart from the heart set. I had forgotten what a great stamp set the grunge set was and will be using it more often.

I hope you enjoyed this project and get ready for more. If there is anything YOU want to see drop me a comment. As always THANKS!!
