Creating a greeting card with a layered stencil from Spellbinders Art is a fun and creative way to make a personalized card for any occasion. Whether it’s a birthday, anniversary, or just a thoughtful gesture the new Blossoming Flowers layered stencil from Spellbinders is perfect! and when you can get two cards in the process it’s a win-win
Let’s get started!
**Materials Needed:**
1. Spellbinders Art Blossoming Flowers Stencil
2. Blank cardstock – I used Neenah Solar White 80lb
3. Ink of your choice & colors – I used the following:
- Raven from LDRS Creative
- Olive Branch from LDRS Creative
- Kitsch Flamingo Distressed Oxide
- Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide
- Festive Berries Distress Oxide
4. Magic Mushrooms blending tools from Local King Rubber Stamp
5. Spellbinder’s Platinum 6 Die Cutting Machine
6. Spellbinder’s Best Ever Craft Tape or a sticky mat to hold down your card stock and stencils. I love the Waffle Flower Grip Mat. It comes in multiple sizes and is my favorite reusable mat!
7. Spellbinders, Floral Friendship Butterflies
8.Bearly Arts Liquid Glue & Pear Blossom Press World’s Best Foam Tape
9.Berry Sweet Paper Pad from Scrapbook.com
10.Spellbinder’s Hello Word Better Press Plate

Step 1: Select the card stock you want to stencil on. Adhere it to your glass mat or a sticky mat. My idea was to create one panel and use it for two cards. So I stenciled the different layers using the inks mentioned above.
Step 2: I die-cut a circle from the center of the stenciled panel and also 2 circles from white card stock. I splattered 1 white circle with some gold water color paint. Then I used an older HI word die from Spellbinders and cut it from the splattered circle.. I glued the HI circle to the solid one. I then took some scrap coral card stock and cut the HI. Iinlaid the letters into the glued, white circles.
Step 3: I plan to use the cut-out stenciled circle so I cut a slightly larger circle from black card and glued the stencilled circle on top.
Step 5: For the HI card I adhered an old wire die-cut scrap to the back of the stenciled panel behind the cut out area. I added the HI circle element with liquid glue and added a few sequins. This panel is approximately 3.75″ by 5″. I adhered the panel to a black panle that was 1/8″ larger. This was glued to a 4.25″ x 5.5″ of coral card stock and then glued to a 4.25 x 5.5″ top folding white card base from Neenah Solar White 110lb.

Now for card #2 Hello
Step 1: Adhere the stenciled circle to a slightly larger circle from black card stock and glue it together.
Step 2: Cut a panel of the Berry Sweet paper to 4 x 5.25″. Follow the BEtter Press instructions, place the HELLO die on the magnetic plate, position your cotton paper onto the clear panel, ink up your HELLO plate, and run through your Platinum 6. Glue this panel to the black panel and then glue on to a top folding card base. I used Neenah 110lb card stock. The stenciled circle was added with foam tape.
Step 3: Add the butterfly sticker and a few enamel dots and you are done.
