The Spring Collection, new release from LDRS Creative has something for cardmakers of all levels. Are you new to cardmaking and want to start out simple? The beautiful Painted Blooms Card Kit is GORGEOUS! Want to get a little more complicated? There are oodles of new stamps and dies! Today I have two cards for you that will highlight the Spring Collection!
My first card features the Painted Blooms card kit. The elements on their own are gorgeous. I have coupled the ephemera from the kit with our new Delicate Stitches Scalloped Rectangle Toppers, Delicate Stitches Scalloped Circle and my new favorite – the Basketweave Stencil!

The base of this card is an A2 top-folding card cut from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White.
Next I have a background panel of a light purple. Then I used the largest Rectangle Topper combined with the second largest to create this white frame.
The circle is made by die-cutting 3 scraps of white with our Delicate Stitches Circle die. Glue all of the pieces together.

Cut another scalloped rectangle with the large die. Use this with Basketweave Stencil and Alloy Hybrid Ink. Tape the stencil to the card stock with low-tack tape and ink blend lightly. Add the second layer and repeat with a little heavier hand. Glue this panel behind the scalloped frame.
Now select your ephemera. The circle sentiment from the kit, fits perfectly inside the scalloped circle. Glue your circle down to the stenciled background, add your ephemera and you’re done!
My second card is a bit more complicated but still so easy to do!

Let’s start with the base. I have cut, scored and folded a 3.25” x 6.25” side folding card base from Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110lb. To cut the scalloped panel you will need to cut a piece of black card stock that is 4” x 7”. I did a little manipulating with the Delicate Stitches Scalloped die set. Using the large rectangle, place it at the top and tape it down. Run it PARTIALLY through your die cutting machines. Now line up the die again with the partially cut card stock. You will move the die down so the new rectangle will measure 6.5” when cut. Tape the die in place and finish the die-cutting. It’s a way to get more out of your dies. This card will fit into a 5” x 7” envelope with wriggle room.
Now cut two strips of white card stock about 2” x 4”. Don’t worry we will be cutting the main panel down. Select several colors of your scrap card stock in the palette of your choice. Use the LDRS Creative Background Strips to cut several strips. These dies come in 1/8” 1/4” and even a 1/2” stitched strip. Now the grab a piece of copy paper and glue the strips down with a strong liquid glue. I have the white strip on the top and bottom. Once the glue is dry, use the Big Words BEAUTIFUL and die-cut once from white card stock. Cut the shadow from black card stock. Glue these together.

Now take the BEAUTIFUL word die and align with your strip panel. Die-cut this. Glue a piece of acetate to the back. Add foam tape all around the back of the panel. Now align the die-cut word and shadow behind the strip panel and glue down to the black base. Add some sequins to the center of the word. Take your strip panel, remove the backer from the foam and add some glue to the foam. This will allow you to wiggle the panel into place. Carefully place and center over the background word. Put something heavy on top and allow to dry.
Adhere the whole shaker panel to the card base with strong adhesive tape. I also stamped a small sentiment from the Happy Me Happy You sentiment stamp in Raven Ink. I cut it with the coordinating die and cut a shadow in black card stock. Glue them together and glue directly to front panel. What do you think?
