Floral Card- New Spellbinders Release-The Painter’s Garden

Good morning your crafty card makers! Welcome back for more of the Painter’s Garden release from Spellbinders. Today’s card features the Pansy floral dies. The Painter’s Garden release from Spellbinders is designed by Susan Tierney-Cockburn and she is a phenomenon with flowers. To create this card I started with a 4.25” x 5.5” A2 top folding Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110lb card base. I cut another white panel to 3.75” x 5” and embossed it using the This Plus This embossing folder from Spellbinders. I added foam tape to the back and added it to the card base.

Next I used the LDRS Creative Strip Dies and cut two 1/8” strips from gold card stock and one white strip with the 1/2” Stitched Strip Die. These were glued directly to the embossed panel.

The sentiment die is from the new Raining Hearts Etched die set designed by Vicki Papaioannou for Spellbinders. I cut the word from gold card and the shadow from vellum and glued them together.

I like to cut out multiple pieces when I get new dies. This way I will have them ready for many cards. You can see a variegated pansy in this photo. I decided to glue one at the top and two at the bottom with the sentiment in between, I think using odd numbered elements help to balance a design. I used Bearly Arts Precision Glue for the flower and then tucked the leaves under, gluing only portions of the leaf. I added some Crystal AB Gems from Kat Scrappiness to the flower centers as well as a bit of Scrapbook.com’s Glitter Pen.
