cupcake inspiration challenge 540

Hello! It’s time for another Cupcake Inspiration Challenge! The theme for this challenge is COLOR and the colors we are looking for are Iced Mint, Buttercup and Blush. These colors are perfect for a springtime card or an Easter card so a great time to play along with us!
Today’s card features a stencil set from the recent Brutus Monroe virtual event. But any simple floral stencil set you have will work. The sentiment was also part of the products received for the virtual event. The stencil was a 3 part stencil. Since I was mixing yellow with blush I wanted to make sure I didn’t create an orange.
In order to do this I stenciled the yellow dots first in Distress Oxide Lemonade. I then covered it with clear embossing powder and heat set it. Next I used the new Salt Water Taffy Distress Ink for the flower center and repeated the embossing steps. The last stencil was used with Distress Oxide Kitsch Pink. I did not emboss this layer.
After the oxides were dry I stamped the sentiment and embossed with clear embossing powder. I love clear embossing powder especially when I forget to use my anti-static embossing powder!
Next I used Gina K’s Master Layout 4 to cut the scallop base from a mint colored card stock I had in my stash. I then cut the stenciled panel to fit inside the scallop base. I added a few enamel dots from Kat Scrappiness and foam tape on to the stenciled base. I adhered this in the center of the scallop base and then glued the entire thing to an A2 side-folding card.
This was a simple card to do but I am pleased with the result. What do you think? I would love to hear from you! As always, thank you for stopping by my blog.
