I am up on the LDRS blog today with some die-cut inspiration for you! This project requires minimal supplies and if you are new to card making it may be perfect for you! The new Doodle Flowers die collection is gorgeous. It contains different flowers, leaves, stems and sprigs that are perfect for all occasions! So let’s make a card!
Start off by cutting a piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White card stock to 4.25” x 5.5”. No need for colored card stock we will use Tickled Pink Hybrid Ink from LDRS Creative. Just swipe it around the edges, no need to cover the whole panel. This is great for those crafters that don’t have the budget or space for tons of colored card stock. Plus, you can match your stamps EXACTLY!.
Let’s get the sentiment out of the way. I am using the Friends Sentiment Stack. One stamp – ELEVEN sentiments. You can certainly cut these out yourself but LDRS Creative has a coordinating die for the sentiment stamp AND a coordinating shadow die! I used both and used the Tickled Pink Hybrid Ink for the shadow! Glue the sentiment and shadow together with LDRS Creative Craft Glue. It goes on white but dries clear. Add some foam tape to the back and set t aside!
Now on to the main panel. First we are going to die-cut OODLES of Doodle Flowers. I cut them out in white using up scraps I have in my craft room. I then cut out a panel of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110lb card stock. I arranged the flowers all over the panel. Once I had them arranged where I liked them I used a clear low tack sticky mat to pick them all up. You can also use that sticky cling film but if you have a mat-use it! Flip the mat or film over and add your glue. Turn it right side up, place over the white panel and press it down. Put something on top until the glue is dry and then slowly remove your low-tack mat or sticky wrap.
Now, here I decided I needed a few pops of color. So using the tiny flower stamp from the Thank You Flowers stamp set, I stamped the flower in open spaces. I used the Tickled Pink Ink again! I trimmed this panel down to 3.75” x 5”. I also cut a black border 1/8” larger. Glue the die-cut panel and black panel together. Add some foam tape to the back.
Add the main panel to the panel we swiped with Tickled Pink. Remove the backer on your sentiment, align and add to the main panel. Glue the whole thing down to a top-folding A2 card base. I also added some clear enamel dots or other gems to the centers of the flowers. That’s it-card done! What do you think? I would love to hear from you in the comments below.
