Good morning, Kathy here. I have some beautiful new products for you from LDRS Creative. Today’s blog features the Joy and the Snowflake Ornaments Impress-ion dies that can be used with the Better Press system from Spellbinders.

I started by cutting, scoring, and folding a top-fold card base from Neenah Solar White 110lb card stock.
Then I cut a panel of the Altenew Brushed Gold Metallic card stock to 3.5” x 4.5”. I placed the Impress-ion Snowflakes on the gold panel (towards the center) placed on the Spellbinder’s Better Press plate and ran through my Spellbinder’s Platinum 6. I then die-cut the snowflakes and set them aside.
Next, I placed the snowflakes in random places on a piece of the Spellbinder’s Cotton card stock (1/8″ larger than gold panel) on the Better Press plate and ran it through my Platinum 6. I moved the snowflakes around to fill up the panel and repeated. I didn’t use any ink as I just wanted the impression.
Then, using the remaining gold card stock I cut it 1/8″ larger than the impressed snowflake panel. I glued the two panels together with liquid glue.
Now it’s time to work on the JOY word die. I used Spellbinder’s cotton paper again. Placed the Impress-ion plate on the Better Press inked it up with embossing ink, ink and through my Platinum 6. I covered it with some gold embossing powder and heated it. didn’t get the best coverage but I think it works. I die-cut the letters with the JOY outline dies.
After figuring out the placement of the components, I glued the snowflakes down with liquid glue. The letters were popped up with some foam squares. I glued the entire panel to the card base and added a few gems.

- I hope you enjoyed this card. I am sure there will be more to come. I have only used the Better Press system a handful of times and am thrilled with how easy it is to use. Thanks for stopping by.
