Spellbinders advent calendar for cardmakers

I have had so much fun opening and playing with the Advent Calendar from Spellbinders. Everyday is a new little surprise. This is a new product from Spellbinders and it was a rough start with opening the doors as the product wasn’t matching up with what they showed on their blog. But as Spellbinders always does, they quickly remedied the problem. There is going to be glitches with a huge product such as this and I have to say this is something I will buy for myself every year!

Here is a card I created with a few of the items so far. The only things that weren’t part of the calendar are the paper, adhesive and pearls. All other items on this card were the gifts behind the doors. This card features four of these little presents.

  • The Gnome Dies
  • The Embossing Folder used on the sides (1.5” x 5.5”)
  • The Happy Birthday Dies
  • The 3 Piece Layered Circle Stencils

The card base is 5” x 5”. I placed the embossing folder on the sides of a 5” X 5” panel and embossed just the sides. I then adhered this to the base with double sided adhesive.

The green frame is 3 1/8” x 3 1/8”. The stenciled panel is 3 x 3. I used Distress Oxide Inks with the stencils in Prized Ribbon and Twisted Citron. I also added some Villainous Potion and some Simon Hurley Lunar Paste on the largest circle stencil. I colored the gnome with alcohol markers and added some highlights with gel pen. Twisted Citron was also used for the frame and the shadow behind the sentiment.

The star balloon and gnome were glued with liquid glue to the stenciled panel. The stenciled panel was adhered to the frame with liquid glue. The entire main panel was popped up on the main card base with foam tape.

Finally, I added a few pearls from Kat Scrappiness just for fun! I hope you enjoyed this card.

I can’t wait to see what’s in store tomorrow. It’s always good to wake up to a present! Have a fabulous CRAFTY day and I hope to see you back soon!
