Valentine Card in December!

Good morning! I am taking a break from Christmas cards to play with today’s present from the Spellbinder’s Advent Calendar. I love this calendar, as you know, and the nice thing about it is all of the gifts are not holiday related! It allows you to take a break from the craziness of the holidays and just create anything.

The Day 8 gift was this fabulous heart die. It is a two piece die. You have one die for the base and another that cuts all the rays. I also used the lacy border die from Day 3.

The background is made with the Geometric Optical Glimmer Plate and the card base was embossed with the coordinating folder. The sentiment is the fabulous Glimmer set called More Sentiments. It is full of everyday sentiments for you.

I cut the large heart from pieces of scrap white card stock 3 times. Then I taped it together with the ray heart die and cut them together, creating a frame. Then I cut the ray heart from white and a scrap piece of gold. I inlaid the pieces, alternating the white an gold..

I adhered the sentiment on foam and added it to two of the lacy border die-cuts. Then I used liquid die to adhere to the red foiled panel. Because the heart already had dimension, it was attached with liquid glue.. Then the completed red panel was adhered to the embossed base with foam tape. NOTE: I used the debossed side of this panel. Then I used double sided adhesive to attach it to a 4.25” x 5.5” top folding card base.

This just reminds me of a classic Valentine card and I can’t wait to send it to someone special. Let me know what you think in the comments below.
