A Snowy view with Gina K Designs Master Layout 11

Good morning! I don’t know if you are familiar with Gina K Design’s master layout dies. They are probably the most used dies in my craft room. The new Master Layout 11 is a new welcome addition. This set cuts a window, postage stamp shapes circles and sentiment strips. These sets are an excellent investment as they can be used for so many things. Today I am creating a shaker card with the Master Layout 11 set and the Snowflakes Embossing Folder. The sentiment is from an incentive set. The incentive sets are given with purchases of $75 or more and always fabulous. This one is no exception.

This card measures 4.25” x 5.5”. Cut, score and fold a top-folding A2 card base. Set this aside.

Next I cut a panel of white card stock to 4.25” x 5.5” and ink blended it with Distress Oxides. The colors I used are:

  • Unchartered Marina
  • Prized Ribbon
  • Tumbled Glass

Next I spritzed some water over the panel. This was allowed to dry (you can use your heat tool). Then I took a Hero Arts White Unicorn White Pigment ink pad and gently swiped it over the dry panel. I grabbed my Distress Micro Glaze and blended it over the entire panel. The micro glaze brightens the colors and seals the oxide inks.

After the panel was dry I used the Snowflakes Embossing Folder and ran the panel through my Spellbinder Platinum 6. Follow the directions for your machine when embossing.

Now pull out those Master Layout 11 dies. I cut another panel of white card stock to 4.25” x 5.5” and taped it back to the die with the four windows. This cuts the perfect 4 panel window. Put this in your Misti. I then used Natural Wood Grain stamp from LDRS Creative and stamped in a light grey ink. I then added some Distress Oxide Black Soot around the edges. Once the panel is dry adhere a piece of acetate to the back. I used double-sided adhesive. Add foam tape all around the window pane. Now sprinkle some fun embellishments in the center. I always add a thin strip of glue around my foam before attaching the back panel. This allows me to wiggle the Snowflake panel into place. Allow this to dry.

The sentiment was from a GKD incentive set and i used GKD Amalgam Ink. I then used the square die from the Master Layout 11 set. I lightly blended the Uncharted Marina and Prized Ribbon around the edges of the sentiment square. I also used the square postage die and cut it from a matte silver scrap. I used GKD Connect Glue to adhere the sentiment to the border. I added thin strips of foam to the back of the sentiment square, a few dots of liquid glue and adhere to the window pane. I added a few snowflakes on top then added the entire panel to my card base with Connect Glue.

Just think of all of the window scenes you can create with this Master Layout set. I can’t wait to play with it more. Thank you for stopping by.
