Good morning your crafty card makers! Do you love flowers? Do you like being in the garden? Well, I personally have NO green thumbs. However, The Painter’s Garden release from Spellbinders is designed by Susan Tierney-Cockburn and she is a phenomenon with flowers. Today’s card features the Carolina Allspice die set. It is a beautiful wispy flower and that I had never heard of. So I sat down to watch Susan’s video (I WIll link at the bottom) on how to create with these dies. I am sharing with you the creation I came up with and I hope you enjoy it!

To create this card I started with a 4.25” x 5.5” A2 top folding Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110lb card base.

I cut another panel of the card stock to 5.25” x 4”. I chose the darkest alcohol marker color used for my florals and colored the edges of the card panel. This is a great tip if you are just getting started in card making and don’t have the perfect color card stock for the border.

The embossed panel was created with another piece of the Neenah card stock. I used the Flower Frenzy 3D Embossing Folder from Spellbinders. This is a GORGEOUS folder and so versatile! This panel was trimmed down to 3.75” x 5”. Just look at the dimension!

I like to cut out multiple pieces when I get new dies. This way I will have them ready for many cards. I had cut several of the shapes out and colored them using alcohol markers. Watch Susan’s video if you need help with coloring. She has great tips. I layered the pieces together creating 1 main flower and two buds. I used Bearly Arts Precision Glue.

I cut a scalloped oval. I don’t believe this one is available any longer but there are so many out there and perhaps you already have one. I circle or rectangle would also be perfect!

The sentiment is from the More Sentiments Glimmer plates. This is a set that can be used for a multitude of occasions and I love it. I trimmed the sentiment to size with the die in the set. Then cut a piece of white card stock slightly larger, I colored it with the same marker I used for the border panel. These two were adhered with liquid glue.

Assembly

Decide on your floral arrangement. I glued the flowers and branches to the oval. The sentiment is popped up on foam tape. I also added foam tape to the oval and attached that to the embossed panel and glued to the border panel. This was all glued directly to the card base. You will see that some of the leaves aren’t glued. this is a card you are going to give to someone special. It is very dimensional. What do you think? Do you love to create dimensional cards such as this? I am in love with this set.
