I LOVE being part of the LDRS Creative Design Team! Today I am up on the LDRS Creative Blog. If you want to know more about ME please stop by the blog and read the Get To Know the Team Feature! I love their products, customer support and the fact that all of their products work so well together. Today’s card is no exception! I love to create cards and inspire others to create them. This card is so easy that even if you just started your card making journey you can do it! I am using this On This Special Day stamp set. It’s a very versatile stamp set. This card could be used for a graduation or a new job. The set includes small stamps and sentiments for weddings, new babies, anniversaries…any kind of CELEBRATION! You can check out the New Spring Collection HERE.

Let’s start off by selecting a piece of patterned paper for our focal point. The Favorite Things 6 x 6 paper pad has so many designs that could be used for many occasions. Using the Delicate Stitches Scalloped Rectangle Topper dies select the middle sized die and cut your patterned paper.
Place your patterned paper panel into your MISTI stamping platform. We will now use the On This Special Day stamp set for a sentiment and a little embellishment. I selected “the adventure begins” sentiment and the postage mark and the round sentiment “So Proud of You on This Special Day”. I stamped the main sentiment directly on to the patterned paper panel with Raven Hybrid Ink, covered with clear embossing powder and heated.
Next, I stamped the round sentiment and repeated the embossing process. Then I added the round postage mark on top of the round sentiment and repeated the process. (TIP: Stamp the round sentiment first THEN the postage mark. It makes it easier to line up. Also use the clear acetate from your stamp set. Place it on top of the stamped sentiment in your MISTI then ink the circle and stamp. This will show you if your alignment is good. If not, re-align and stamp on the acetate again until you have the correct alignment.) Repeat the embossing process. I cut the postage stamp out with a small circle die I had in my stash but you could fussy cut!

Now use the same die and the next size down. Align these dies within each other, tape together with low tack tape and die-cut a frame from white card stock. I cut 3 of these frames and glued them together with LDRS Creative Craft Glue. Set something heave on top and allow to dry. Once dry, glue the frame on top of the patterned paper panel.
Now we are going to use the two largest Delicate Stitches Scalloped Rectangle Toppers. With the largest die cut a piece of coordinating blue card stock and die-cut. To add extra texture I place the scalloped rectangle on to the new Triple Stitched, Quilted, Plaid A2 Coverplate die and ran it through my die-cutting machine. You can see the added texture it creates here:

Now let’s cut another set of frames from white card stock using the largest two rectangle toppers. Remember to align and tape them together as we will cut this three times. Glue these together with the Craft Glue. Then glue to the blue scalloped panel. For the card base I selected a piece of coordinating orange card stock. I think this color pulls out the orange from the balloons. Pink would work great as well! Cut the card base to 4.25” x 5.5”. Adhere this to an A2 top-folding white card base. I used Neenah Classic Crest Solar White in 110lb weight.
Now add foam to the back of you main panel that is your focal point. To adhere the postage mark I added a small piece of foam to the portion that sits on the patterned paper. I glued it to the frame as well. Throw on a few solid confetti pieces and you’re done.

I also want to show you a new product from LDRS Creative which became available on 2/23. It is the LUXE Magnetic Glass Craft Mat! It may be sold out but you will want to get on the waitlist if it is. This brand new magnetic, glass board is BEAUTIFUL. It comes with magnets and a magnetic ruler. Why do you need it? You can stencil on it, ink blend on it, use the ruler to align sentiment stamps and letters. It is so pretty and so versatile. Take a peek….

Kathy, lovely cards, great feeling just to fly away in a hot air balloon, always on my wish list xx
