Let’s take a break from holiday cards!

Today was just a play day! Using scraps I have had in my stash and making a non-holiday related card. Here’s the final result, what do you think? I would love to hear from you in the comments below!

It’s kind of funky, looks a bit like a galaxy but it was super fun!

I headed to my mixed media scraps and had the ecru colored, stenciled panel. I had used Simon Hurley’s Lunar Paste in Triple Berry on this panel a while ago. The stencil is a fun stencil I picked up from Joggle’s.com called Woven and it’s actually on sale for $1.97 at the time of this post. It’s a big stencil, 9 x 12! I taped it over a card panel, slapped on the Triple Berry Lunar Paste and let it dry.

The circles were from a discarded project back around Halloween. I had purchased the Tim Holtz Halloween Distress Mica Sprays because I NEEDED them! I used them on a piece of card stock, cut some circles set them aside…..and forgot about them. Have you ever done that?

I took some nesting rectangle dies and cut a frame from the middle. I cut the same frame from a coordinating purple card stock.

I then found a word die I HAD to have from Scrapbook.com, FEEL BETTER. I don’t think it’s available anymore. I cut the shadow from a gold card stock and the word from the same purple card stock I used for the frame. I then sprayed the words with the mica stains.

I glued the frame to a side-folding card base and then glued down the purple inside frame. I adhered two of the circles directly to the top panel. I adhere the sentiment to the last circle with glue and then added foam tape to the back and adhered. I added a few solid gold confettis from Kat Scrappiness to the panel and it was done. What do you think?
